A WINCHESTER school boy has taken home first prize in a drawing competition.

Seven-year-old Liam Skeat of Weeke, a Year 2 St Bede C of E Primary School student, won the Thompson drawing competition for his submitted sketch of his parents, brother and himself on holiday.

Liam’s picture, which showed his family enjoying a day at the beach, beat off stiff competition from thousands of other entries.

He was awarded a brand new pen set and a voucher.
