It's different
BIKES, trikes, motorcycle outfits, choppers, three-wheelers and more converged on Goodwood on Sunday for a sunnier Breakfast Club than last month's which was snowed out, writes Glynn Williams.
This time the theme was "Two wheels or more, excluding four - everything from bikes to buses and trikes to trucks". Goodwood made its own contribution with the six-wheeler Land Rover fire tender for the airfield.
Denis Fellows from Bournemouth, pictured on the front of Wheels, dropped by with his Hudson Free Spirit powered by a 1.3 Renault 5 engine - one of 30 in the owners' club - on his way to the National Kit Car Show at Stoneleigh.
He said of the little three-wheeler: "It's good for a ton on the track, but you do have to remember it's only got one wheel at the back!"
Other three-wheelers included the mint Messercherschmitt and BMW Isetta and a Citroen Lomax.
Bike makes included Ariel, AJS, Sunbeam, Suzuki, Honda, Harley, Buell, KTM, Triumph, Norton, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Ducati and Moto Guzzi.
Rather larger than the average trike was this monster which had a reminder of its size on the tank (inset) - "6' WIDE"!
