BID jobs advertised

ADVERTS have been placed to recruit the new team to implement Winchester's business improvement district.

Four posts are available, of which the two most senior will attract salaries of around £25,000.

The contracts and compliance manager and the business development manager will work together on the scheme. The former will handle the finances and contracts, with the latter dealing with events and publicity.

There will also be two clerical assistants, who will each receive around £15,000.

The team will implement the BID, which aims to bring £2m of improvements to Winchester's retail district during the next five years.

The staff will also tackle the workload of former city centre manager, Graham Love, and his deputy, Keith Wilson.

Mr Love was suspended in February and given three months' notice in March. Neither he, nor his employer, the Winchester City Centre Partnership, have commented on why the decision was made.

Mr Wilson's job will be phased out on July 1. Both men have been told they can apply for places in the new team.
