A FRENCH café in Winchester is hoping to save the city's students a pretty penny.
Café de Paris, in Jewry Street, says it is offering a 15 per cent discount from Saturday, March 1, to encourage people to try Winchester's restaurants without worrying about the cost.
Any student will qualify as long as they have a valid student card.
Manager, Alex Vassilakis, said: "Students today have so many financial pressures on their pocket, but that doesn't mean they should be left with unhealthy take-aways and beans on toast in their stomachs.
"When students go away to study they leave behind good, wholesome, home-cooked food and often head towards high street chain take-aways they recognise from their own towns.
"Part of student life is about going out and having as many new experiences as possible."
