Event aims to build local supply chains

SOUTH Hampshire Partnership is staging its fourth Meet the Buyers event on the March 24 at East Horton Golf Club, Fair Oak.

It’s a chance for businesses to make contact with major buyers and build local supply chains.

It’s funded by, among others, Eastleigh Borough Council, the Partnership for Urban South Hampshire, Hampshire County Council, New Forest District Council, Test Valley Borough Council, and Winchester City Council. “Past Meet the Buyers events have seen businesses win contracts in excess of £100,000 to date,” said Winchester City Council leader, George Beckett. “It’s a real chance for businesses to engage with local suppliers who can often offer cost savings and innovative solutions for businesses.”

More than 150 suppliers and 25 buyers took part last year with a fifth reporting that it brought them new business.

Senior buyers from Carillion, Hampshire County Council, BAA Southhampton, Lakehouse Contract, and New Forest District Council have said they will be taking part. For more information, or to reserve a place, telephone 0207 700 0008 or e-mail victoria@business-business.co.uk.
