CIVIC chiefs are set to rubber stamp amended changes to the parking for a new doctors' surgery in Winchester city centre.
Building work is set to start soon on the Upper Brook Street car park for the new St Clements surgery.
Changes to the waiting restrictions in Friarsgate and Upper Brook Street are being implemented for the construction of the new surgery on the site of the Upper Brook Street car park.
A new ambulance/doctors bay will be created in Friarsgate but a new goods vehicle loading bay in Upper Brook Street has been dropped from the scheme.
Nineteen responses were received from residents of Upper Brook Street objecting to the proposal for the loading bay.
The need for the bay was reviewed by the St Clements Surgery Project Board and in consultation with the planning department and local retailers in Upper Brook Street it has been agreed that the bay is not needed.
