AN HISTORIC Hampshire mill that dates back to the 18th century has been successfully let to a marketing agency.

Shawford Mill, built in 1785, has undergone a substantial refurbishment and is now the new home of Rooster Marketing, which had been searching for a unique contemporary solution to their office requirement for over a year.

Goadsby Commercial, say that the refurbishment included a host of eco-friendly features including a water-powered turbine which generates the building’s electricity.

The self-contained building of 1,809 sq.ft (168 sq.m) and 12 car spaces.

Allan Pickering of Goadsby Commercial Winchester said: “This building represented a fantastic opportunity for Rooster to relocate to a highly sustainable building in an attractive village, within 10 minutes drive of the centre of Winchester.

“We were aware of Rooster’s requirement for contemporary office space and are delighted to have completed the letting to them.”

Chris Tyler-Smith of Rooster Marketing said: “After looking at many potential new offices over several years, we never thought we would find a property that ticked every box for us: character, a great Winchester location, plenty of parking, space for growth and being right next to a train station, the M3 and a pub.

“Added to this with the ability to go fly fishing from our own garden fronting one of the most beautiful stretches of the River Itchen.

“A creative working environment really doesn’t come any better than this.”
