A WINCHESTER shop worker is set to have her hair chopped off to make wigs for sick children.

Harriet France, who works at Jeremy France Jewellers in the High Street, has called on celebrity hairdresser Guy Kremer to cut her hair into a pixie crop in aid of the Little Princess Trust.

The charity makes real hair wigs for children across the UK and Ireland who have lost their own to cancer treatment.

Ms France, daughter of shop-owner Jeremy France, said she had been off work with illness for five months and wanted something positive to come from her situation.

“I am feeling much more positive and got to thinking about all the people out there who aren’t so lucky and are still suffering,” she said.

“One of the side effects of my cure was a massively increased intake of vitamin D, resulting in accelerated hair growth. It seemed almost silly to waste this opportunity of having longer hair and I have decided to donate my luscious locks.”

Ms France faces the ‘big chop’ tonight.

Mr France said he will donate £350.
