TWO women have been recognised for their work in the construction industry at Hampshire County Council.
Beatrix Kovacs was shortlisted for Architect of the Year and Mia Holdaway for the Best Apprentice/New Starter award at this year’s 2015 Women in Construction Awards.
Ms Kovacs was nominated in part for her work designing, planning and fundraising for a Nepalese school.
In her nomination, one of her colleagues, said: “Beatrix has a thorough understanding of construction which she uses effectively to negotiate solutions with the contractor and overcome any prejudice that may be experienced on site. Beatrix uses her experience of private and public practice, together with her experience of construction industry alternatives, to challenge processes to achieve better outcomes.”
Trainee building surveyor Ms Holdaway is currently working on a number of projects in the New Forest and the Isle of Wight.
