A POPULAR member of the Basingstoke business community is retiring from Phillips Solicitors today.

Pam Whittle, who has worked as the marketing manager at the Top of The Town law firm for eight years, clearly has a great deal of affection for her colleagues and the business contacts she has made while at Phillips.

“I think I’ve had the best job at Phillips, working for a wonderful team,” said Pam.

She brought with her a wealth of experience when she first arrived at the firm, having worked for an IT and a pharmaceutical company and even an interactive TV company.

Among her recent achievements at Phillips was overseeing the firm’s rebranding, which was launched at the BE INSPIRED event in April, catching the attention of Lord Sugar’s right-hand man, Nick Hewer.

Sheila Glyn-Owen, a director at Phillips, said: “Pam’s warmth and enthusiasm will be missed by all of us. Without doubt, Pam has raised our profile as Basingstoke’s foremost legal firm.”

As well as paying tribute to Pam, who is being replaced by Wendy Turkington, Sheila also praised Julie Grand, who is leaving the firm this week after 10 years. Her role as finance and operations manager is being taken up by Faye McMahon.
