A Champagne specialist is launching a new venture for the region’s wine lovers.
Cecile Bergart, a wine teacher and Champagne expert who lives in Eastleigh , is opening Hampshire Wine School this October with venues in Winchester and Southampton It will offer evening tastings and Saturday events as well as four-and eight-week courses for both beginners and experts.
Cecile, who was born in France and grew up in the Champagne region, built her own successful Champagne and wine company organising corporate events and wine tastings, as well as supplying many 5-star hotels and restaurants in London including Claridge’s and The Dorchester.
She sold her company last year before deciding to join the localwineschool.com network of independent wine schools with her new venture.
She said: “Wines are such a passion of mine that I find sharing that first-hand experience very rewarding. I want to make discovering and understanding wines accessible to everyone and a thoroughly enjoyable way to spend an evening.”
Hampshire Wine School events will be held at No.5 Bridge Street in Winchester and the White Star Tavern in Southampton.
