HIDDEN in the woods in the New Forest is an organisation that provides sustainable and fun learning and development solutions for a wide range of organisations.
The New Forest Outdoor Centre engages participants by using practical activities to enliven team and leadership theory. These experiences are then used to enhance group discussions to make the learning and development relevant to the work place.
“This type of learning stimulates the senses and helps it to have both relevance and longevity,” said Robert Crates, director of the centre.
The centre has many years of experience providing leadership development based on raising emotional intelligence.
Evidence suggests that there are strong connections between raised emotional intelligence and increases in performance, enabling individuals to become better at managing and utilising the way they feel, in conjunction with how they think when deciding on how to act.
This means that emotional intelligence improves both personal and interpersonal effectiveness.
Among the clients who make use of its combination of practical experiential learning and classroom-based learning are Skandia, B&Q, Exxon Mobil, RNLI, Southampton General Hospital NHS Trust and Hampshire County Council.
The centre is available for both development programmes and fun team events.
