A HAMPSHIRE firm is to offer free training to young tradespeople just entering the floor sanding sector.
Southampton-based floor sanding supply business KHR has launched its Skills2Sand programme in partnership with German manufacturer Lagler.
It will be offering training to 30 people, giving them a chance to learn a new trade with the aid of the Lagler machine range.
Many floor sanding businesses start their life as a one-man-band, with a van and the basic three floor sanding machines – a belt sander, an edging sander and a finishing sander.
The one-day PST (Premium Sanding Training) course teaches novices and veterans how to use these three machines to achieve the best results.
Applicants can be from any background so long as they are under 25 years old, UK-based and working (or looking to work in) the floor sanding trade. The deadline for applications is September 30, 2016.
