A DRIVE-THRU Starbucks has opened in Basingstoke.

The new cafe in Houndmills Trade Park has created 20 new jobs for the area, and will open seven days a week.

It will be operated by Starbucks franchise partner, 23.5 Degrees, and is the first Starbucks drive-thru in the town.

Along with the drive-thru there is also seating inside including two large community tables, and free parking.

Charlotte Bowsher, district manager at 23.5 Degrees, said: "We are thrilled to be opening the first drive-thru store in Basingstoke. The area is a great location and we're looking forward to being a part of this community and getting to know our local customers."

Karen Fenwick, director of franchising and licensing, Starbucks UK, added: "It's fantastic to open this new store in Basingstoke in partnership with 23.5 Degrees, who bring local expertise and experience to our business. 23.5 Degrees were one of our first franchise partners in the UK in 2012 and now serve customers in 37 Starbucks stores."

The cafe will open Monday to Saturday from 7am to 7pm, and on Sundays from 9am to 6pm.
