IT’S the board game that has brought the streets of Southampton to dining tables across the UK.

And there is just today left for Hampshire businesses wanting to be part of a special 10th anniversary edition of Destination Southampton.

The game is the creation of former Hampshire taxi driver Rachel Lowe and sees players race through the city’s streets in minicabs, taking in some of the city’s best-known sights.

The idea was originally rejected on Dragon’s Den but has since been so successful that there are now Disney Pixar, Harry Potter and Downton Abbey editions, while Southampton will be one of just 13 locations across the UK which will have 10th anniversary editions published.

The Daily Echo is among the companies to support the 10th anniversary game and there are still spaces available for firms wanting to be included on the board.

Ms Lowe said: “It’s a unique way of marketing your business.

“We don’t want it to be purely business, it has to represent the city.

“It has to include all the attractions that make the city what it is.

“It’s also great to be able to involve independent businesses to have their place on the board.

“They contribute to the city’s economy.”

The closing date to be part of the new game is today.
