CHRISTMAS may still be six months away, but Southampton Airport bosses are already preparing for the festive getaway.

The airport has launched even more flights to Finnish Lapland for 2015, increasing capacity by 300 per cent, and seats are already selling fast.

There are three different dates and options available and four separate flights.

On Tuseday, December 8, travellers those wanting a longer break can take a three-day holiday to Lapland with Santa’s Lapland, flying into Ivalo airport.

Day trippers can take advantage of the flights departing and returning on the same day to Enontekio.

On Saturday, December 12 there’s a Santa Day Trip with Transun and on Sunday, December 20th and Monday, December 21, Santa fans can take a day trip with Canterbury Travel.

Jan Halliday, director of marketing and communications, said: “It must be every child’s dream to see Santa in Lapland and so this year we’re making it possible for even more families.

“We’re delighted to be able to offer these additional flights from Southampton Airport which, particularly for the day trippers, will be a much more convenient alternative to the larger London airports.”
