THEY are two of Hampshire most plush hotels and they have been bought up in two multi-million pound deals.

Commercial estate agent Charters Commercial has organised the acquisition of the Burley Manor Hotel and The Old House Hotel for two clients.

New Forest Hotels has acquired its fifth hotel in the area after it acquired the Burley Manor Hotel through 12 months of negotiation.

Winchester firm Charters Commercial acted on behalf of the group to buy the 38-room Victorian-era hotel near Ringwood for an undisclosed sum.

Dating back to 1852, the hotel was once a royal manor and sits among five acres of landscaped gardens.

Joe Harvey, Managing Partner of Charters Commercial said: “This multi-million pound freehold acquisition was undertaken over a period of 12 months and included a site appraisal, valuation, successful negotiation and acquisition.

“The Burley Manor Hotel becomes the fifth hotel within New Forest Hotels Group which includes Bartley Lodge Hotel, Beaulieu Hotel, Forest Lodge and Moorhill House Hotel.

“We look forward to working with them on further acquisitions in the future.”

In 2011 the Burley Manor Hotel was one of five Hampshire venues that was snapped up as part of a £60m deal after Surrey-based Akkeron Hotels bought it.

The hotel’s Facebook page currently lists the venue as part of the St James Hotel group which operates a number of hotels across the country.

Advertised as a venue which is ideal for a short break in the New Forest, Burley Manor offers 38 en-suite bedrooms in the heart of the New Forest.

Our five acres of landscaped gardens provide the opportunity to stage a variety of outdoor events including teambuilding activities such as laser pigeon shooting, archery and treasure hunts.

It is also top among couples looking for a romantic place for their weeding while families enjoy dinners and afternoon tea at the venue.

As well as guests looking to stay for the weekend, business leaders have also enjoyed seminars and meetings at the hotel.

Charters Commercial has also negotiated the transfer of the Grade-II Listed boutique The Old House Hotel in Wickham.

Based in King’s Worthy, the firm worked on behalf of the leaseholders, John and Richard Guess, for the Wickham Square hotel in addition to the grant of a new lease to Inn-telligence Ltd to add to their B & B Collection of hotels.

Mr Harvey added: “Charters Commercial’s expertise in the hotel sector played a very important part in successfully negotiating these complex transactions to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.”
