RED Funnel ferry firm has scooped a prestigious industry award.
The company has added to its trophy cabinet after being honoured for its work in raising health and safety standards at work.
The Southampton company clinched gold in the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents’ (RoSPA) occupational health and safety awards for the 14th consecutive year.
The accolade also gained the company its fifth president’s award.
The awards recognise commitment to continuous improvement in accident and ill health prevention among employees Scrutinised areas include health and safety management systems and practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.
Company CEO Kevin George hailed the achievement an “honour” and added: “Safety is always our number one priority and we are proud of our safety culture and record in proactively managing safety throughout the business.”
Bosses will be presented their trophy at a ceremony in London next month.
