FRIENDS and families came together in a picturesque Hampshire pub to raise over £2,000 for charity.
The Navigator in Lower Swanwick hosted the charity lunch to raise money for the Wave 105 Cash for Kids fund.
Guests helped to raise £2,136 which will see Wave 105 broadcast journalist, Michael Coombes, cycle around Madagascar from May 14-22.
Mr Coombes said: “The day was a huge success. Thank you so much to our listeners for coming along and supporting Wave 105 Cash for Kids. Your donations really will help.
“Thanks also to the staff at The Navigator who were brilliant and even donated their tips. We couldn't be more delighted."
Navigator manager, Chris Pearson, added: “Our head chef is continuing to receive rave reviews for his seasonal menus which are created using produce from across the county. Coupled with a great local initiative like Cash for Kids, I’m not surprised that most of our guests paid more than the normal price for their food. It was a really memorable day and we look forward to supporting Cash for Kids again with new initiatives in future.”
