Southampton Airport has seen a total of 165,188 passengers pass through its doors during October 2014, which is 13.3 per cent up on the previous year, representing an extra 19,375 extra passengers.

There was growth in all areas with 46.5 per cent more domestic passengers, 33.5 per cent more international passengers and 20 per cent more passengers between Southampton and the Channel Islands. The fastest growing route was Dublin with 54 per cent extra passengers on five flights per day. Other popular growth routes include Amsterdam, Manchester, Belfast, Nantes, Guernsey, Jersey, Alicante, Malaga, Limoges and La Rochelle.

Jan Halliday, director of marketing and communications, said: “We have had strong passenger growth in 2014 so far and are delighted to see this continue into the autumn, including the popular half-term week. “We are now starting to get ready for the ski season which starts in December, with a wide range of ski resort options in the Alps and Pyrenees.”
