WINCHESTER communications firm Remarkable has completed its acquisition of Pendragon Public Relations to create a new group.

Remarkable Pendragon has been formed after Remarkable took over the infrastructure and energy consultation business in a bid to boost the company’s position in property, waste management, utility and energy sectors.

It is the latest step in Remarkable’s expansion drive which follows the opening of three other regional offices this year in Manchester, Bristol and Cardiff.

The deal was completed for an undisclosed sum and joins Remarkable’s 70 staff with the Pendragon team, led by Alex Doyle.

The announcement comes as the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) published its infrastructure survey, in conjunction with engineering consultants URS.

According to the report, business leaders’ confidence in the UK’s key areas of competitiveness, such as energy and transport, is low with many expecting infrastructure to worsen in the next five years.

The findings show the UK has much to do to meet the transformational upgrades it needs.

Chief executive of Remarkable Group, Stephen Pomeroy, said: “With the CBI/URS survey showing high levels of support for an independent commission to oversee UK long term infrastructure planning amid concerns over the effect of political intervention, it is right that we ensure we are providing unmatched sector expertise.

“Remarkable Pendragon is a first for the UK stakeholder consultation market: an agency dedicated to helping companies achieve positive planning outcomes and wider stakeholder and government relations for infrastructure and energy projects. I have admired the work of Alex and his team for many years and I’m delighted to be able to welcome them into the Remarkable Group.

“The expertise of Remarkable Pendragon, its national reach, and innovation in digital and creative consultation solutions will provide clients with an unrivalled offering that brings measurable business results. We will focus on supporting infrastructure and energy clients through planning permission, construction and into operation, with communication strategies designed to build strong community, political and stakeholder relationships.”

Alex Doyle, of Remarkable Pendragon, said: “We are delighted to become part of the Remarkable growth story, and look forward to working with our new colleagues to offer infrastructure and energy clients an exceptional service. We are shaking up the way stakeholder consultation is delivered in the UK.”
