STAFF at an Eastleigh telecommunications took on the gruelling challenge of scaling one of the UK's highest mountains for charity.

A team of 40 Daisy Wholesale employees climbed up Mount Snowdon to raise money for Diversity Role Models charity who tackle homophobic and transphobic bullying in schools.

The groups eight hour trek down the tough Watkins track proved to be a big success as they smashed their target of £6,234 and raised a total of £7,800 to help the charity.

Managing director at Daisy Wholesale, Terry O'Brien, said: “I never expected it to be an easy challenge and in fairness I didn't really know what to expect, but it was far harder than I had considered.”

“The final 250 metres was particularly difficult with a steep incline with near sheer drops, especially in high winds and torrential rain.

"We have all suffered aches and pains, but the sense of achievement amongst the group definitely shone through.”
