A CHANCE to land that dream job arrives tomorrow when some of Hampshire’s top employers flock to a major careers event in Southampton.

Hundreds of jobs could be up for grabs tomorrow when the doors open at the Novotel for the Daily Echo Jobsfair at 10am.

Jobseekers can also get helpful advice from some of the region’s industry experts, who will be sharing their words of wisdom at a series of talks and seminars.

A wide range of sectors will be represented at the Southampton city centre hotel until 3pm, and they will be offering vacancies for those looking to develop their careers or get back on the job ladder.

Firms such as New Forest Care, All Care, Vista Healthcare, the Army, Capita Group, National Fostering, Carnival group, and the Daily Echo will be there.

Other exhibitors include Team Brain Injury Support, defence firm QinetiQ, employment firm Investible Projects, and Carillian Construction Training.

The National Careers Service will be giving advice to jobseekers with seminars on writing CVs, effective jobs searches and interview techniques. JobCentre Plus will be there to provide further advice.

Sparsholt College and other training providers will have stands giving people the chance to find out more about apprenticeships, training schemes and further education.

Elaine Arkell, recruitment coordinator from QinetiQ was at the event in March.

She said: “We were encouraged to see a large number of credible candidates and it also gave us an opportunity to increase our brand awareness.”

Daily Echo recruitment manager Natalie Sprake said jobseekers should make the most of the diverse range of firms on offer.

She said: “There are so many good companies who will be there offering advice or even interviews, it is too good a chance to pass up.

“The fair offers opportunities for all ages, whether you are fresh out of school or university or have had to make or want to make a change to your career.

“There’s great advice on hand and some great opportunities from local businesses in Hampshire and beyond.”
