A HAMPSHIRE specialist boatyard has been sold for an undisclosed sum.

Marina Projects Ltd has sold Endeavour Quay in Gosport to Premier Marinas which bought the site as part of undergoing an expansion

The yard is next to Premier’s Gosport Marina and offers one of the largest boatyard facilities on the south coast.

It will continue to serve its existing customers as well as providing extra boatyard facilities for Premier customers, trading as Premier Endeavour Quay.

Premier Marinas boss Pete Bradshaw said: “It is great news that Premier Marinas can now include the Endeavour Quay boatyard operation as part of our portfolio. It is a fantastic addition and testament to the professionalism that exists within the marina projects’ team.

“It significantly increases the offering to our berth holders and visitors and fits neatly alongside our Portsmouth Harbour marinas operation with Gosport and Port Solent.”

Endeavour Quay Ltd was started by Marina Projects Limited in 2006 when it took over the world-renowned, ex-Camper & Nicholsons site in Gosport.

The boatyard business has a 180-tonne travel hoist and three large boat sheds serving an international market with a focus on the private large yacht market, commercial vessels, race yachts and superyachts.

The reputation of Endeavour Quay has travelled far and wide with the yard hosting Volvo Ocean Race teams, Open 60s including Alex Thomson’s Hugo Boss, the Clipper Round the World Race yachts, J-Class yachts the Admirals Cup fleet, tall ships, various superyachts and many more.

Premier Marinas owns and operates eight prestigious marinas with locations including Eastbourne, Brighton, Chichester, Southsea in Langstone Harbour, Gosport and Port Solent in Portsmouth Harbour, Swanwick on the Hamble and Falmouth.
