A HOTEL in Alresford has received recognition for its breakfasts.
The Swan, which now houses the new town clock, has been given Kellogg’s Breakfast Award after a VisitEngland representative assessed the hotel.
The inspector praised the quality of the food and the staff’s service describing the full English as a “very generous portion size, quality bacon was crispy, a very "meaty" local pork sausage, scrambled egg was creamy and beautifully cooked, the mushrooms being well seasoned. All served on a preheated plate, adding to the guests’ enjoyment.”
General manager Andy Ayres said: “We’re all very pleased to have been given this award. We have all worked really hard since our refurbishment last year and we’ve got a really tight team here with friendly staff. Being family owned gives us the great benefit of offering a personal service.
“This is the third award we’ve received over the last few years and we’ve gone from a two-star rating to a three-star rating this year. We’re hoping for a fourth star in the near future.”
The hotel was presented with a Hampshire Hospitality Award earlier this year and was the inaugural winner of the Alresford Chamber of Commerce Business Award 2013.
