THIS year looks to be one of significant progress for a Basingstoke-based HR consultancy.

HR Solutions celebrates its tenth anniversary and just two months ago moved to new, larger offices, at The Manor House, in Lutyens Close, as part of its growth strategy for 2014, has now merged with Peritus HR, also based in Basingstoke.

At the same time, the company has undergone a major rebrand and is now called Reality HR.

Managing director Laura Davis, has built the company up to a 12-strong team of HR specialists providing an outsourced HR function to more than 60 companies across the south.

She explained: “We know Peritus HR well as it is owned and run by Cara Shadbolt, who has worked with us in the past.

“Her client base operates in similar sectors to our own and Cara has some fantastic skills both in HR and as a director to support us in our growth plans. It made eminent sense for our companies to merge.”

Laura took the merger opportunity to re-visit HR Solutions’ own vision, values and goals and it soon became clear that the name ‘HR Solutions no longer reflected the direction of the business.

She said it lacked the commercial focus and business savvy approach for which the company is recognised.

The new name, Reality HR, was chosen because everything the company does is based on reality – not HR theory! Explaining her thinking, Laura said: “Whilst we will always operate within HR legislation, we refuse to be constrained by that – we believe a healthy dose of realism is essential!

“We continue to be driven by the desire to deliver the best results for our clients, based on their business needs and helping them to achieve their goals.

“Our new strap line, business driven, people focused really sums up our approach.”

Reality HR will continue to deliver the core services of providing advice on employment legislation, performance management and recruitment to its clients.
