Difference between men and women’s brains discussed at Hook networking group’s launch
THE difference between men and women’s brain’s were discussed at the launch of a new lunchtime networking group in Hook.
Twenty-five business women attended the lively meeting of The Athena Network at The De Vere Highfield Park Hotel, where leading the discussion was neuroscientist, Dr Lynda Shaw.
Those attending the meeting learned that The Athena Network aims to inspire and support women to connect and to grow their businesses with trust and integrity. Membership includes training in business development skills.
“We want to give women the best possible chance to make their businesses grow,” explained Petra Read, regional director of The Athena Network Club in the Basingstoke area. “Part of that is finding new customers, but a supportive network is one of the key ingredients for success in today’s business world.”
Among those attending the launch was Kam Bajwa of Burlington Associates.
She said: “Having never tried a networking group previously, I was surprised with how interactive The Athena Network group is, with the core emphasis being on helping to build members’ businesses.
“I will certainly be arranging to meet some of the ladies I have met.”
Petra said members are actively being sought in a few key business areas including travel, marketing and web design.
