KILTS were the attire of choice for the team at menswear specialist Slaters as they marked a local milestone.

Staff at the 9,000 sq ft Festival Place shop donned the Scottish garb to celebrate the shop’s 10th anniversary in Basingstoke.

Store manager Thomas Bebb said: “The anniversary went very well, especially as we were offering a 10 per cent discount to mark the occasion.”

Mr Bebb, who has worked for Slaters for 14 years, has run the Basingstoke store right from the beginning when it opened in 2004.

He said: “We rarely have a sale because our prices are very competitive. The reason for that is because all of our stores are on the first floor, where we pay cheaper rent and are able to pass on the savings to our customers.”

Describing Slaters as a traditional mensfitter, Mr Bebb said: “We are very customer focused and offer everything you can think of for men, from casual wear to formal wear.

“Business is very healthy in Basingstoke. We have seen continued growth and long may that continue.”
