COLLEAGUES at The Co-operative Food store in Winklebury are calling for local voices to be heard loud and clear as they take to the streets with a giant megaphone to encourage local people to help shape the future of the business.

Tomorrow morning, the team from the Winklebury Way store will be posing with the super-sized megaphone to mark the launch of The Co-operative’s pioneering Have Your Say campaign, to launch the biggest piece of research and engagement in The Co-operative’s history.

Jon Grouse, store manager, said: “The Co-operative is a community-based retailer, which means it is really important to be in touch with what our customers, and the wider public think – not just about us, but also about the communities we share.

“It is our willingness and ability to listen that is at the heart of what makes us different, and I want to make sure that people in my local area know how they can have their say on topical issues, the way we operate, and our future.”

The Co-operative has teamed up with YouGov to carry out the research, and the findings will feed directly into a review of the strategy and purpose of the business, which is being carried out by Co-operative Group, chief executive, Euan Sutherland.

Everyone over the age of 16 is invited to have their say at www.haveyoursay.coop
