Team set to tackle tax avoidance
4:30pm Wednesday 30th October 2013 in Hampshire Business
A SOUTHAMPTON-based law firm has teamed up with a leading accountancy business to launch a new initiative to help those stung by tax avoidance schemes.
Moore Blatch, who have an office on the Avenue in Southampton, are working with Taylorcocks accountancy firm to help those who have been wrongly advised to take part in these schemes – and have subsequently lost money.
The initiative comes after changes in the law, which have seen a number of tax avoidance schemes closed down, as well as a new crackdown from HMRC to clamp down on the schemes.
Mark Osgood from Taylorcocks explained the scheme. He said: “Taylorcocks is working to help people correct their tax position and reduce the losses where possible, while we are focusing on establishing liability, evaluating loss and possibly taking legal action where it is appropriate.”
Anyone who has been affected by these tax avoidance schemes and would like more information, should contact Moore Blatch on 023 8070 8000 or Taylorcocks on 0370 788 111.
