Relocation specialist HCR is hoping to cook up a princely pot of money
RELOCATION specialist HCR is throwing its weight behind a bid to raise funds for The Prince’s Trust by serving up a new publication – the Hampshire Cookbook.
The mouth-watering project is part of the charity’s Million Makers campaign, which is a national competition calling on employees and university students to come together and raise £1million to help make a difference to the lives of young and disadvantaged people.
HCR head of marketing Simon Hood, based at the company’s Belvedere offices in Basing View, is heading up the company’s Million Makers team.
He said: “Entrepreneurial teams from across the UK create and promote their own ideas, and then compete for seed funding from The Prince’s Trust in a Dragons’ Den, featuring top business experts from across the UK.”
The HCR pitch proved successful, receiving £1,500 seed funding from The Prince’s Trust to get the project off the ground.
“The idea is to turn that funding into a profitable enterprise and feed those profits back into the trust,” said Simon.
“We’re delighted that our Hampshire Cookbook passed muster through the selection process – and now we’re ready to get started.
“We’re also looking for local companies to get involved and sponsor this tempting collection of mouth watering recipes.”
Convinced that Hampshire should be loud and proud about its local cuisine and produce, the HCR team is already working on food choices for the book.
Example recipes include saddle of New Forest venison with pears and roasted walnuts, smoked Hampshire trout with watercress salad and marinated beetroot with rosemary goats cheese with bee pollen and Hampshire honey.
And there are also several sponsorship packages to choose from.
“We can offer local businesses the chance to list their details in the book, include their own Hampshire recipe – or go the whole hog and sponsor the entire publication,” said Simon.
“There’s plenty of room for us to repay The Prince’s Trust’s faith in us and make a real difference by producing a fantastic return on that initial investment.
“I’m delighted by our team’s enthusiasm towards an incredibly worthwhile cause and wish them every success with this exciting project.”
