Alresford golf company announces Portuguese expansion

ALRESFORD-based Huxley Golf, the PGA’s official supplier of all-weather golf surfaces, has announced an expansion of their business into Portugal.
RED (Relvados e Equipamentos Desportivos) will be the company’s authorised distributor and installer, supplying Huxley’s all-weather greens, tees and practice surfaces to golf courses, resorts, hotels and private homes.
Portugal’s two main golfing regions - in the Algarve and the Lisbon coast - combined with the potential for sales of home putting greens, make it an attractive market.
RED managing partner, Alvaro T. Bastos, said: “We are very excited to be able to work with Huxley Golf and their world-class products, especially their superb all-weather turf for tees and greens.”
Paul Huxley, director of Huxley Golf, said: “We’re delighted that the growing Huxley Golf team has been joined by RED, who we’ve known for a long time. Alvaro has been running very successful Portuguese companies since 1970 and has recently been joined in the business by his son Miguel.”
