Helen Bulbeck

FORTY-something Helen Bulbeck says she has Hampshire in her blood – she was born and grew up in the county and now works here.

In 2004 her daughter, Meg Jones, was diagnosed with a brain tumour, aged just 19. Two years later Helen and her husband Peter set up the charity brainstrust, to help people diagnosed with brain cancer.

The charity has grown hugely and now takes up most of Helen’s time, when she is not doing her day job as an education consultant. It supports over 100 families and Helen says this number is growing weekly as the incidence of brain cancer increases.
