A HAMPSHIRE cruise ship singer turned music teacher has something to sing about as she is set to perform in a show gown once owned by Barbra Streisand.
Singer Lisa Faye wearing one of Barbara Streisand's frocks
Lisa Faye is to star in her own musical creation, called “Streisand The Concert,” at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival between August 22 and 30.
The show is a celebration of the legendary diva’s career stretching from her first recorded song to award winning films like Funny Girl as well as lesser known gems.
Lisa, who has long been a Streisand fan, bought two frocks from the American singer’s online charity auction last November.
One is a champagne-coloured raw satin gown by designer Jessica McClintock dating from the 1980s while the other is a sleek black velvet halterneck dress, designer unknown.
Both were owned and worn by Streisand and will be seen for the first time in the UK when Lisa performs her show.
Lisa, from Sutton Scotney, said: “I have been a fan for about ten years and been to see her shows. I just think she is an amazing artist. She inspires me to perform and bring songs to life because that is exactly what she does in her own unique way.
