Stoneham pro Richard Bland is safely into the weekend at the Czech Masters, as he closes in on securing another European Tour card.

Bland recovered from a bogey-bogey start yesterday at the Albatross Golf Resort, in Prague, to card a two-under-par round and move to three-under for the tournament.

That saw the 41-year-old comfortably make the cut, and a strong final two days may take his winnings for the season to a level that will ensure his spot on the elite circuit again next year.

Bland could be joined there by Liphook’s Sam Hutsby, who is looking to qualify through the Challenge Tour.

His strong form is continuing at the Rolex Trophy, where he is challenging for a top-ten finish ahead of today’s final round.

Hutsby, who started the event with a sensational seven-under-par round, is now nine-under.
