BRAD Taylor impressed on his England Under-19s debut.

The 19 year-old off-spinner took 3-42 as South Africa closed on 300-7 in their second innings of the drawn first Test at Fenner’s.

Taylor took 0-50 from his 17 overs in the Proteas’ first innings but took the chance to show what he can do on the last day of the four-day stalemate.

Hampshire wicketkeeper-batsman Tom Alsop made 40 out of England’s 352-9 declared in reply to South Africa’s 433.

The second and final match of the series begins at Northampton on Thursday.
