Hampshire will be without an overseas player at T20 Finals Day after Kyle Abbott confirmed his unavailability.

Abbott will not be returning from South Africa's one-day international series in Zimbabwe, while Glenn Maxwell has left for a Cricket Australia training camp.

Hampshire have confirmed that Australian Nathan Rimmington, who played one T20 group game, will not play at Edgbaston on August 23 so it will be the first of their five successive Finals Days without an overseas signing.

Owais Shah and Liam Dawson are likely to be the replacements when Hampshire take on Lancashire in the second semi-final.

Meanwhile, both Abbott and Maxwell have bid farewell to Hampshire on Twitter. Abbott tweeted: "Thank you @hantscricket for the last 4 months of cricket. Been an awesome experience and id like to thank everyone who made me feel at home!"

Maxwell wrote: "Home time! Thanks to @hantscricket for another amazing season! Apologies to the fans for the lack of runs. Good luck finals day lads!"
