It's all getting a little bit festive in Winchester. If you can fit something in between shopping sprees, here are a few reasons to get your scarf on and head into town this weekend.
1. Winchester Cathedral's Christmas Carol Concert – Friday
An evening of festive music featuring the Cathedral Choir, conducted by Andrew Lumsden. With guest appearances from Stephen Gadd, Claire Rutter and international opera singers. Doors open at 6.15pm, tickets from £15.
2. Gok Wan stars in Cinderella at the Mayflower - from Saturday
The How to Look Good Naked star will be all dressed up - oh yes he will - in the Mayflower's Christmas pantomime alongside Brian Conley. See them from Saturday until January 4 with tickets starting at £15.
3. Meet Santa on the Watercress Line - Saturday and Sunday

Lucky for St Nick he won't be coming down this chimney - Father Christmas will visit you in your seat as he leads a one-hour trip through the winter countryside. Advance booking only - click here for times and prices.
4. Sleeping Beauty at the Theatre Royal - all weekend
Tickets are still available for a range of performance types at the theatre's big Christmas panto. Revellers can choose from showings for families, schools and groups or children with learning difficulties. Adult tickets start at £12.
5. Grand Bauble Hunt – Saturday and Sunday
Who needs to buy decorations when you find them for yourself in Sir Harold Hillier Gardens? This fun family adventure opens daily from 10am-4pm until January 4.
6. Live nativity at Winchester's Christmas market
Meet Jesus, Mary, Joseph and the animals in their stables for free at Winchester Cathedral's festive market from 6pm.
7. Hursley Tree Festival – Saturday
Children will gather from far and wide to decorate Christmas trees for a special prize. From 10am-4pm in All Saints' Church, Main Road. May include glitter.
8. Deck the halls with Hampshire's Monet - all weekend
The Winchester Art Club Exhibition sees the main corridor of the Royal Hampshire County Hospital line with local artistic talent. The free show runs daily until January 2.
9. Give a little with your Christmas tree - Saturday
Get your tree from Alresford Rotary in Broad Street from 8am. Proceeds to the charity’s work at home and abroad. But hurry, they go quickly!
10. Park your car in Friarsgate - while you still can
Friarsgate car park, Silver Hill's original concrete monstrosity, is not long for this world. More than 200 spaces are already out of bounds in the creaking multi-storey and the rest are set to go in the next few months, it emerged this week. Enjoy the sights - and smells - while they last.
