WINCHESTER and District Athletics Club has launched a fund-raising initiative to improve its facilities at Bar End.
WADAC hopes to build indoor training facilities, a conditioning room, trackside seating and a better quality clubhouse at the University-owned Winchester Stadium.
The ambitious plans are subject to funding, land availability, university approval and planning consent.
The club is setting up a Facilities Fund and will be launching a 100 Club where members pay an amount with the chance of winning a prize of half the monthly takings.
Members will be encouraged to register with www.easyfundraising.org.uk whereby retailers give a small amount to the club when a purchase is made.
The club has expanded hugely in recent years after moving to the Olympic standard 400m running track at Bar End in 2008.
