“WE’RE going British!”
Those were the words of the organisers of this weekend’s Sparsholt Village Fete, who were determined to have a good time, despite the wet weather.
Approximately 500 people attended the annual event in Woodman Lane on Saturday, which featured a barbecue, tea, cakes, Splat the Rat!, pony grooming, plate smashing and other stalls.
Organiser Victoria Williams said: “It was great. Fun was had by all, despite the hideous weather. The children managed to dance on memorial green, and there were lots of activities.”
All proceeds will go towards St Stephen’s Church and other village causes.
