WOMEN in Winchester are urged to grab something pink and get themselves in for this year’s Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life.

On Sunday (June 8) thousands are expected to turn out for the 5k at 11am at the Garrison Ground and University Sports Stadium to help raise money in the fight against cancer.

The closing date for the women-only entries is June 6 and organisers are encouraging mums and daughters, grannies, sisters, friends and co-workers to take part.

Fiona Miller, event manager for Race for Life for the south, said: “We are very grateful to the women who have already entered Race for Life in Winchester. But we still have places left so we are urging women to sign up as soon as possible.”

Last year nearly 2,000 women took part raising £127,618.00.
