ANYONE with an interest in modern military warfare is invited to a special exhibit at The Rifles Collection museum in Winchester.

On Thursday May 15, from 7pm, the new museum will open its doors for an exclusive evening of talks by riflemen as part of the international Museums at Night campaign.

The servicemen will give a presentation, entitled Chosen Men: The Rifles in Afghanistan, on life on the front line and present some never-before-seen items from tours of Afghanistan which have been loaned to the museum exclusively for the event.

Exhibitions curator, Major Robert Yuill, said: “This is a unique opportunity to gain a personal insight into life in the regiment on operations today. The talk will allow an exceptional insight into the work of an infantry man, illustrating what it means to serve in The Rifles on the front line today.”

The Rifles Collection is a new museum of the largest infantry regiment in the British Army, The Rifles, and explains the role of the modern infantry today.

The evening will take place at The Rifles Collection/Royal Green Jacket Museum at Peninsula Barracks in Winchester and will begin at 7pm with a reception.

Tickets cost £12 per person, including a glass of wine and canapés. For tickets telephone 01962 828505 or email curator1@the-rifles.co.uk.
