EMERGENCY services were called to the city centre today following a crash involving a dustcart and car.
A silver Rover MG was in collision with a Biffa dustcart at the junction of Colebrook Street and the High Street.
One eyewitness, who did not wish to be named, said: “I just heard a really loud bang. I think they did not see each other. It did give me a real start.
“She looked very shaken. It was quite a loud crash — hence the ambulance.”
Traffic was briefly diverted, but by 11.15am cars and buses were passing through as normal.
Nobody from Biffa was available to comment at the time of going to press.
The female driver was treated at the scene by paramedics for minor injuries.
